This page covers the things you shouldn’t do with Dial-a-Podcast. It’s part of our Terms of Service and uses the same defined terms. Most of it is common sense — keep it legal, keep it yours, and don’t interfere with the service. Breaking these rules can mean we remove content or pause your account.
1. Content You May Not Make Available
Please don’t upload, link to, or play audio (or anything else) that:
- isn’t yours to use — that includes music or other material you haven’t licensed for telephone playback;
- is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or encourages violence or crime;
- is obscene, harmful to minors, or is child sexual abuse material;
- harasses or discriminates against people based on who they are;
- is fraudulent or pretends to be someone it’s not;
- shares someone’s private information without permission; or
- otherwise breaks US or Canadian federal, state, provincial, or local law.
2. Things You May Not Do
Please don’t (and don’t let anyone else):
- use the service for anything illegal, deceptive, or fraudulent;
- interfere with, overload, or attempt to break into the service or the companies behind it (like Twilio or Stripe);
- probe, scan, or circumvent our security or access controls;
- use the service for unwanted calling or messaging, or in any way that could get a number flagged or shut off by the carriers;
- resell or hand off the service to others (your audience listening in is fine — that’s the whole point); or
- use the service in a way that breaks telemarketing, anti-spam, or privacy laws.
3. Your Callers
The people who call in are your audience, so your relationship with them is yours to manage — including any notices or permission you owe them under the law. If you use approved-caller lists, keeping them accurate and fair is up to you.
4. How We Enforce This
If we think something’s off, we may look into it and may remove content or pause your account, with or without warning. We may also report illegal activity to the authorities or the companies involved, and we honor valid copyright (DMCA) complaints as described in the Terms of Service.
