Audio Bumpers: Pre-roll and Post-roll Branding for Your Podcast

We've updated how audio branding works on Dial-a-Podcast. Pre-roll audio is now managed through a new system called Audio Bumpers—and along with the rename, we're introducing a brand new capability: post-roll.

What's New

Previously, you could assign a short audio clip to play before each episode on a podcast channel (pre-roll). With this update:

  • Post-roll is now supported: assign a bumper to play after an episode ends, not just before.
  • Reusable bumpers: upload once, assign everywhere. Update the bumper in one place and the change takes effect across all podcasts using it immediately.
  • Independent pre-roll and post-roll per podcast: each podcast can have a different bumper in each position, or the same one in both, or none at all.
  • Role labels in your dashboard: the Episode Audio Branding section now shows each bumper alongside which podcasts it's assigned to and whether it's being used as a pre-roll, post-roll, or both.

Setting It Up

  1. Go to the Episode Audio Branding section on your dashboard and click Add Audio Bumper.
  2. Give it a name and upload your audio file. Once processing is complete, the status will show Ready.
  3. Click Edit on any podcast you want to add it to, then select the bumper from the Pre-roll Bumper and/or Post-roll Bumper dropdown. Click Update.

That's it. The bumper plays automatically at the position you assigned, for every episode on that podcast.

A Note on Existing Pre-rolls

If you were already using pre-roll, nothing has changed for your listeners—your audio still plays exactly as before. You'll just notice the section on your dashboard has been renamed from "Pre-roll" to "Episode Audio Branding," and your existing file now appears as an audio bumper. No action needed.
